What is sea moss?


This nutrient and mineral-rich red sea algae a true superfood. It is packed with vitamins and minerals that are essential for all functions of the body. With over 90 of the 110 minerals the body needs, this seaweed is considered a superfood.

How to make sea moss gel?


Sea moss can be easily consumed by turning it into a gel. Sea moss gel is water and sea moss blended together. Soak the sea moss in spring water for 12-48 hours. After the sea moss is soft, place it in a blender with spring water until the gel has reached a gel form. Be sure to remove any visible dirt and debris. Sea moss can be kept in the refrigerator for up to one month.

 

Tip: Place the sea moss in an ice tray to then add to your smoothies!

How much should I take?


We recommend 1-2 tablespoons a day. Check with doctor prior to consuming if you are concerned about any allergies to sea moss.

Why does sea moss smell?


The sea moss is grown in the ocean so it has a grassy and sea-like smell to it. More times than often, the smell goes away after soaking it in lime.

Why is the difference between purple and gold sea moss?


The shore and the depth that the moss grows play a role in both the nutrient content and depth of color the moss retains. It isn’t until the sun drying process that the color pigments are naturally drawn out from the algae. Purple Sea Moss contains powerful antioxidants called Anthocyanins, which are found in blue and purple vegetables or fruits.
 


Where does my sea moss come from?


Our sea moss is harvested in the island of St. Lucia in an aquaculture practice and packed for the United States. We give back to the local St. Lucian economy!

Superfood Sea Moss Smoothie

Sea moss gel can really be added to any smoothies. But, we would like to suggest a recipe.  Take your favorite ingredients like bananas, apples, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and greens like kale, spinach, and sprouts, then add simply three tablespoons of sea moss gel to the mix. This is a great way to add a superfood to your smoothie!

Sea Moss Acai Bowl

Similar to a smoothie, mix along with acai berries and sea moss gel, for the bottom of your bowl. Then add your favorite toppings like kiwis, coconut flakes, fruits, peanut butter, seeds, and or nuts. Enjoy!

In this strawberry rhubarb fool with sea moss dish from Food Network, you can create a delicious, tasty, and healthier twist to a dessert. Add it to any pudding, fruit custard, caramel custard, ice cream, or anything with cream. Really, it works!

Sea Moss Gel Face Mask


Take the gel and apply it directly to your face and leave in for 10 minutes. The gel will usually start to dry and crackle. Use the mask to get clear, glowing, and bright skin.
